Hi everyone, Francis Hooke here from We Grow Businesses. This is our next video on the fundamentals of business growth. In our last video we talked about winning more work. In this video we’re going to give an introduction to delivering more work. Delivering a higher volume of products and services to our clients and customers.
The main idea I’d like to introduce in here is something called the Iron Triangle, which basically says that whenever we’ve got a product or service to deliver there’s a time component, cost component and a quality component. And if we’re going to make our customers happy it’s important that we get each of these parameters right.
There’s one in particular that I would like to highlight, and that’s time tracking. We encourage our clients to use systems like Toggl to measure the amount of time that they’re putting into a particular product or service. For example, if we’ve got a 10 hour project, it’s really important that the project is delivered within 10 hours, and it doesn’t turn into 11 hours, 12 hours, or even 20 hours! By measuring things like the amount of time going into a project we can calculate the effective hourly rate that our clients are achieving. With this insight, we can then help to drive better performance.
